Political Commercial

Published 2004

We have an identified a "clear and present danger" in the White House, and its time for preemptive action in November. This is a "mock" commercial for George Bush using music, video, and images to highlight his personal character and the current crisis our country is in thanks to his leadership and administration. It is to show we can SUPPORT our country and troops, but not the leaders running it. It is on the dark side, but more 'fun' then dark (not as dark as Scar Strangeled Banter!). This is dedicated to the true voice of loyalty and patriotism in America. The following video/submission is my first, so feel free to state your opinion. I have appreciated all comments.

Many of the pictures were taken from various sites on the internet. Sites had the same pictures, so original photographer is unknown on many. If your picture is shown in this video, I will give you full credit with my appreciation. Music was sampled from an eclectic group of songs and artists. Editing was done by an overtaxed, under paid, but at least working I.T Chic

Subject: What happened to free speech in the U.S
Being an outsider looking in to the state of affairs of the U.S its amazing and sad that more people are not speaking out against George Bush and the path he led their country. There is no happiness or satisfaction in this war and at the moment there is also no end. If the Americans think that they solved the problems of Iraq, they cannot be more wrong. Instead the country has been left in a vaccum and as soon as the U.S pulls out there will be a civil war until the American props up another ganster, as they did with Saddam.

All stupid and gullible people like george. There's no changing that. He's similar to half the country, they can't spell worth peanuts or communicate or understand anything except in excessively broad terms. The MTV generation of 4 seconds a picture, rich people who know he will benefit them, and God Loving old people falling for his millions of dollars of marketing saying he's a man of God, working for biblical ideals.

By definition the presidents job is to propose adjendas to congress, a job needing excellent oratory and debate skills.

A video will only make supporters angrier because 1. He's as stupid as they are, so they like him. 2. He "speaks" to God, even though he doesn't mind having frivolous wars, yes saving possibly a few, but much less than could have been saved from just buying food and medicine for the poor of other countries. Most the money went to his big arms dealer buddies and oil tycoons. I think its well been proven he heavily misled us, and he's a rich spoiled brat whose policies benefit his rich buddies.

Subject: Until you've been there....
You can't imagine what has happened in Iraq. To look at the people who suffered time and again at the orders of Saddam Hussein, you would understand in an instant why we're there. The majority of Iraqis want us to be there. That was clear the moment my convoy made the trip to then-Saddam International Airport. The kind of shelters the people were forced to live in: walls made of discarded plywood and old tires; doors made from the same, sometimes worse; curtains made from their own makeshift clothing... All while the massive amounts of economic aid that were sent to the country were squandered by Hussein to build his disgusting palaces.
Then, of course, there's the torture chambers, where countless people screamed in unbelievable pain... many of them children. I won't go into any more detail on that, though it might do some good if I did.
And let's not forget the seemingly endless number of bodies we keep unearthing over there in mass graves. Yeah, it wasn't worth us going over there for this, all right. Keep telling yourselves that.
We are the only nation that is willing to do anything about the suffering in this world. In response to the inevitable "Then why aren't we in ?", it's simple: We can't be everywhere at once. We'll get there eventually, it's only a matter of time.
I supported the first Gulf War by praying for our success(I was 12 at the time). I supported the second Gulf War by helping fight it. Until you've seen what the media will not show you, don't try to tell me that this war isn't worth it.
One more thing: If you support the troops, but not their mission, or our leader, that makes us a nation divided against itself. History has shown that we do not last very long that way, so I would suggest that you think long and hard about that decision.
God bless our troops,
God bless our nation,
God bless our leader!

Subject: A tribute to the reviewers
This was originally in the open source section and had several reviews written. Some good, some bad, but all were appreciated.
It was moved to the Election 2004 section (after the election) and all the reviews were lost.
I appreciated all comments and I was not responsible for them being erased.
Here are a few that I had saved on my hard drive:

Subject: technical aspects
The Russians used similar techniques in their silent propaganda films of the 1920,s. The Germans, in their 1930,s b/w sound propaganda films used these techniques. Now with color added . we have an American film attempting in just 4 minutes to convey a huge message. I consider that they would have more success if they followed Advertising Industry practice of one simple topic. I have used the other reviewer rating

Subject: Artistically Fascinating, Politically Challenged
The blatant comparison of Bush to Adolph Hitler shows ignorance to the true atrocities of what was done to the Jews. Rather, compare Saddam Hussein to Hitler.

Artistically this piece was very well done. The ending was a bit long.

What a mix! Orson Welles would be proud. Outrage, a call for change, and an underlying belief in our system - all expressed in one package. It's quick dose of reality - shocking and uncomfortable to say the least. A commentary on our times. Well done.

Music was great! ItÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs a good (different) choice to emphasize the point of the video.
Some of the angry reviews sound like they were copied and paste from the Michael Moore MSN movie review site for Farenheit 9/11.
Coincidence or lack of originality on the reviewerÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs part?

Subject: Vote in November!
Michael Moore is getting vilified as with the creator of this ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂcommercialÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ. Yet, it is those individuals that have the strength to impact others with their creativity.
To everyone that views this video:
If you donÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂt like the message, Vote and re elect Bush
If you like the message, Vote for any other person THAN Bush.
At times like these, prior to an election, it is important to encourage others to vote their mind. Last election was ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂlost?ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ by a few hundred votes and settled by the Supreme Court.
This should NEVER happen again.
There is more at stake also; we are involved in ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂwarÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ. American troops are being sent, where they arenÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂt wanted, arenÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂt appreciated, and for their loyalty they are making the ultimate sacrifice, getting killed. The families left over get a pittance for compensation.
Yet, if you were one of the unlucky souls killed in 9/11, your family is splitting a BILLION dollar fund for you being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
DonÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂt get me wrong, 9/11 was terrible, but what has evolved out of it is a national lie and Bush has whored the military for his own personal revenge.
I fought in the first Gulf War, I protested the second. My heart bleeds for the military men and women being sent to Iraq.
This situation does not justify the loss of one life let alone hundreds.
Just Vote.

This was featured by Eric Blumrich of bushflash.com, being an admirer of his work I downloaded this video.
The person who created this is obviously another individual fighting to educate the public about our president and this administration.
I read all of the reviews associated with this video. It demonstrates how divided this country is and material like this will incite emotions.
It is harder to speak an opinion then to flow with the status quo. Today, speaking against our countries policies now makes you 'Un-American' 'Not Supporting the Troops'.
When that is far from the truth.
Our liberties are at stake.
Freedom of speech has become a mockery.
Our countries founding principles have become a sham.
I.T Chic is going against public acceptance or approval to state an opinion that has valid merits and displayed in an entertaining way.
I urge her to STAY in the political arena (regarding rfvaldez), and to continue improving her skills.

Subject: Republicans Are the Problem
I have watched this video numerous times and passed it on to others (as the link had been passed to me). I think the people who ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂdonÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂt get itÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ are the people that are being spoon fed by the media about our current political situation. These people are content to sit back and accept what is happening in our world and do not feel comfortable in questioning it. Because if we questioned it, that would be un-American.
Unfortunately there are very few voices in America that will state an opinion. There is Michael Moore, but his movie attempts to be blocked by ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂCorporate AmericaÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ that supports this president as he supports them.
This video is disturbing, but we live in incredibly disturbing times. This countries reputation is being sabotaged by one president. That is so wrong.
Wake up America.
Yes, the person who did this might not be in the league of Michael Moore, but they are doing a service.
The music is nothing I would have picked, but it is so right in the element chosen.
IÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂm impressed
